Rebecca is a very knowledgeable VLJ and very supportive if you are a high producer. However, if you are not, regardless of what may be occurring in your life, she tends to be abrasive and harsh in her feedback, and can be micromanaging in her leadership qualities. This can have a very disheartening effect on most attorneys, and rather than result in improved production, has the opposite effect. While it is not felt this leadership style is done to promote negativity, a different leadership style may be more supportive of the goals she wants others to reach.

Rebecca Poulson is both supportive and strict. While she walks the walk with offering support and training, and her overall attitude towards her attorneys is positive, her delivery of comments and feedback sometimes trends towards abrasive. While very competent in manipulating Veterans Law, if she develops a preformed idea of your performance she is overly critical to the point of making mistakes in reviews which are time-consuming, if not defeating.

Becky is a very kind, very direct VLJ who also is a hard worker. She advocates for her attorneys but can be too sympathetic to the attorney when another VLJ questions the work product written by one of her attorneys. She knows a great deal about Veterans' law and the daily work of our agency. An attorney willing to put in the work time would learn from her.
